No cell phones for kids!
Is there a link between cell phones and cancer? The debate rages on
No one can say exactly what cell phones do to our brains when we continuously rest them against our heads. At best, it’s nothing to worry about. At worst, the frequent exposure will mean a huge increase in brain cancers down the road. Given that the consequences are largely unknown, many undecided experts are suggesting that we limit cell phone access for children and start using a head-set. A handful of scientists, including Dr. Davis and her colleague Dr. Ronald B. Herberman, are recommending that children never use cell phones, except for emergencies. Since cell phones are not a necessity, should parents err on the side of caution?

Sun in Aquarius ignites humanitarian principles and causes
On January 20, the sun entered the fixed, air sign of Aquarius, the “water-bearer”. Symbolized by a man pouring water (consciousness) upon the world from a large urn, Aquarius brings awareness to humanity. People born with the sun, moon, or rising sign in Aquarius are natural communicators who happily share their insights and wisdom with everyone. Aquarians’ broad love for humanity leads them to join humanitarian causes, sometimes ignoring their own needs, for the good of the group. They may also be seem somewhat aloof, as their energy is often wrapped up in various causes and crusades, leaving less attention for their personal relationships. Believing deeply in their own philosophy, Aquarians can hold rigid opinions and do not appreciate being challenged. If you love an Aquarian, give them plenty of space, believe in their causes, and only challenge their principles if you are prepared for a very long, possibly unrewarding discussion in which the fallacy of your viewpoint will be thoroughly examined.

David Suzuki, iconic Canadian scientist, educator, broadcaster and activist delivers a 'last lecture' -- what he describes as "a distillation of my life and thoughts, my legacy, what I want to say before I die".
Filmed before a live audience, in front of a memory box of moving, distilled images, he articulates a core, urgent message: we have exhausted the limits of the biosphere and it is imperative that we re-think our relationship with the natural world. Suzuki looks unflinchingly at the strains on our interconnected web of life -- and out of our dire present circumstances, he offers up a blueprint for sustainability and survival.
The film interweaves the lecture with scenes from the places and events in Suzuki's life. As such, the film is a biography of ideas -- forged by the major social, scientific, cultural and political events of the past 70 years.
