Benjamin Gleisser sold his first article to Crain’s Cleveland Business in 1986. Since then, he has published hundreds of articles, edited or ghostwritten more than two dozen books, managed the editorial department of several magazines, reviewed restaurants, and taught writing to university students.
Since moving to Toronto from Cleveland, Ohio – a relocation due to the love of a good woman – Benjamin has established himself by placing articles in The Toronto Star and The Canadian Jewish News, crafting promotional pieces and medical writing for Cleveland Clinic Canada, ghostwriting a book on kinesiology, and writing profiles of Toronto Raptors and Blue Jays players for various college alumni magazines. He is also the wine columnist for Lake Erie Living.
He has won 10 writing awards from the Press Club of Cleveland, the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists and Writer’s Digest magazine, including “Best Column” (twice), “Best Medical Feature” and “Best Human Interest Reporting”.
Hardworking and dependable – and with a vocabulary that contains hundreds of thousands of words – Benjamin seeks to continue his full-time career as a writer, editor and proofreader by offering his wordsmithing skills to WIN-NIM members. One specialty is reworking CVs to create pithy and creative resumes that will help job applicants get noticed.
When editing, nothing pleases him more than strengthening sentences by inserting verbs that demand attention. And when writing, he values the well-placed adjective or adverb that gives readers an image that stays with them, like the fluffy cat that curls up in your lap and soothingly purrs itself to sleep.
Email or call Benjamin for any of your writing or editing needs. From direct-mail marketing pieces to promotional advertisements, and from article writing to ghostwriting, he can do it all.
