Guest speaker

Peggy Brigham C.YT, NCCP Coach and golfer

BIO:
Golf Performance Specialist - Peggy Brigham C.YT, NCCP Coach and golfer. Has been helping golfers improve their games one shot at a time since 1997. She worked in the golf industry three years prior to developing her company. Peggy left her well paying job and began pitching her idea to golf courses in 1996 and recieved rejection after rejection ,yoga was just to out there for people at that time. Finally a golf course Markland Woods accepted her program in 1997.

She has spent years researching the winning behaviour and has found her concepts and teachings are basically the same as they were 10 years ago. She credits this to the solid foundation of a 5000 year lineage. Yoga is a science, it has been tested, and proven to be the oldest form of self-realization. Over the years Peggy has had to walk her talk and thankfully had all of these tools she teaches to stay patient and persistent until the world caught up with her out of the box thinking. Yoga for Golf being a trailblazer has many articles written about the program dating back to 1997.

Peggy has also appeared on Rogers TV Peggy's student's range from teenagers, to an 87-year-old man, who began Yoga for Golf this winter 2006 without doing any form of prior fitness. Peggy is a contributing writer in the Banner- a Orangeville newspaper, She has created an audio C.D. for the game of golf, which can be ordered on line www.yogaforgolf.ca

She is a speaker,
Facilitator,
Owner of a yoga studio,
Teacher of certification courses.

Topic:
As a woman today, we know the need for balanced lives. Between having a career, raising children, maintaining a home, time for family and friends, squeezing in time for fitness, etc, etc, who has time for play? Let alone going for a four hour walk in nature? Most women I know say.......there's too much to do, no time.

They know it would soothe the soul, leave them refreshed, creative and in a better mood to handle everything. Why don't they feel they are worth it? They are aware when I tell them, "You create your life, so you are the one standing in your own way." So what is the answer...? One of the easiest ways to spend time in nature, is to play the game of golf. Women can learn from men in this regard, men take time automatically for themselves. There could be a deadline looming but they would take the afternoon off to go golfing either with a client or to clear their heads.

So, you may say, I have never golfed before, never practiced yoga before, No Problem. What you will learn this evening is of critical consideration, the mental game. The message is the same for life or golf, empowerment. As children we learn thru playing games this principle can still apply once you are an adult. You will gain immediate insights into your conscious and sub-conscious mind and learn tools to think and live a powerful life. You will learn quick ways to relax on cue, the true power in swinging a golf club. Finally the amazing control over the emotions by breathing the golfers breathe. All these techniques will benefit anyone on or off the course. Balance out your life play, play, play you are worth it!

Final Thought: from Nikole with LUV...

How to Accept Power

You
  Are  A  PowerFull  Woman

How does this feel? Do you embrace it or push it aside? The subject of power isn't explored very much or taught at schools, or even by parents. Luckily, this is beginning to change. People see me as a power.full woman, yet, I don't see myself, why?

We are endowed with power by our very birth, and then shrouded from the knowledge and acceptance of it. My Mother is a power.full woman. When I comment on it, she laughs and says,"Oh no, I'm not" What do we think power is? The dictionary says: "Ability to do, act, or produce", "Great ability to do, act or affect strongly; vigor; force; strength," "A spirit or divinity"

I think we must study power and what it means to us as women. Power means to me:

    * Standing strongly in your own center and living from your heart.
    * Truth-telling, wisdom, and strength. How often do we think of power?

Think of your women friends. Identify the ones you consider power.full & Why?
What qualities do they share?.....Think.....To be continued.......
